In this 90 minute performance, show creators Rebecca Fishman and Evan Premo present songs from the first and second acts of their musical in development, “Breaking Open.” Featuring both sung performance and spoken text, the expanded presentation guides the audience through the show’s arc, tying together themes of embodiment, devotion, grief, sexuality, power, and spiritual revelation through historical context and personal reflection. Featuring performances from the creators alongside violinist Marji Gere and accompanist Dan Sedgwick.
